Encontre o tamanho certo de fronha para a sua cama. Fronhas standard, euro e king explicadas com medidas e dicas de estilo.
Quick answer
Standard shams (20"x26") fit twin and full beds, Euro shams (26"x26") are square accent pillows for queen/king beds, and King shams (20"x36") match king-size pillows. Choose based on your mattress size and how you want to layer your bed.
Why sham size matters
Shams are decorative pillow covers with a flange or border, designed to sit behind your sleeping pillows. Getting the size right affects both the look and function of your bed. A sham that’s too small will look lost; one that’s too large can overwhelm your pillows or make the bed feel crowded.
Standard vs Euro vs King – the key differences
Standard shams (20"x26") are the most common and match standard bed pillows. They work well on twin, full, and queen beds when you want a neat, classic look. Euro shams (26"x26") are square and larger, used as a decorative back layer against the headboard or wall. King shams (20"x36") are longer and designed for king-size pillows, giving a polished finish on a king bed.
Frequently asked questions about sham sizes
- What size is a standard sham?
- A standard sham measures 20 inches wide by 26 inches long. It fits a standard bed pillow (20"x26") and is the most common size for twin, full, and queen beds.
- What size is a Euro sham?
- A Euro sham is 26 inches by 26 inches – square. It is larger than a standard sham and is used as a decorative back layer against the headboard. It does not match a sleeping pillow size. Euro shams require a square insert (26"x26") sold separately.
- What size is a king sham?
- A king sham measures 20 inches wide by 36 inches long. It fits a king-size pillow (20"x36") and is used on king beds for a tailored, full-width look.
- Can I use a standard sham on a king bed?
- Yes, but it will look small. Standard shams are 26 inches long, while a king mattress is 76–80 inches wide. Two standard shams leave noticeable gaps. King shams or a combination of king and Euro shams fill the width better. For a king bed, use king shams or layer Euro shams behind king shams.
- How many shams do I need?
- For a twin bed, one standard sham. For a full or queen, two standard shams. For a king, two king shams, or two king shams plus two Euro shams for a layered hotel look.
- Do shams come with pillow inserts?
- Most decorative shams are sold without inserts. You need to buy pillow inserts or forms separately in the same size (standard, Euro, or king). Check product details before ordering. Always confirm whether inserts are included or sold separately.
